I have been a member of the design team at Honda Performance Development (HPD) for the past year. My main focus was designing parts for the major 2023 engine redesign, while also fixing issues present in current cars, such as designing a new water pump housing. I also lead a project with two other employees to design a new subsystem, starting from hand calculations and going as far as creating a test plan and sourcing parts.

Not only have I had to chance to work on Indy Cars, but I have been able to see the hard work everyone at HPD puts in lead to success. This photo is from the Long Beach Grand Prix in 2021, where Honda won the Manufacturers Cup for the fourth consecutive year. Working at HPD has allowed me to apply the concepts I learn in school, as well as learning about concepts outside my fields, such as aerodynamics or dyno testing.
