Work Experience

Disney Ride Development Engineer

After graduating, I joined Walt Disney Imagineering as a Ride Development Engineer. I am working to support multiple ongoing projects in parks throughout the world, communicating with other departments, vendors, and teams in other countries to make it happen. My main focus has been to design a brand-new subsystem from conception to implementation around existing ride constrainsts.

Material Science Research for NASA

In 2023, I completed research for NASA to create recyclable carbon capture substrates for oxygen recovery in long-term space exploration. My research aimed to apply known methods of comminution and freeze casting to a new, fully carbon application to produce the porous solid seen to the right. This research works to improve oxygen recovery and reduce weight aboard a spacecraft during long-term missions.

IndyCar Engine Design

I was a member of the design team at Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) from 2021-2022. My main focus was designing parts for the major 2024 engine redesign, while also fixing issues present in current cars, such as designing a new water pump housing. I also led a project with two other employees to design a new subsystem, starting from hand calculations and going as far as creating a test plan and sourcing parts.

HRC Successes

Not only have I had to chance to work on Indy Cars, but I was able to see the hard work everyone at HRC put in lead to success. This photo is from the Long Beach Grand Prix in 2021, where Honda won the Manufacturers Cup for the fourth consecutive year. Working at HRC allowed me to apply the concepts I studied in school, as well as learning about concepts outside my field, such as aerodynamics or dyno testing.
